Guest Service Supervisor

The Study at Yale is currently seeking a Guest Service Supervisor to provide genuine hospitality and the highest quality of service to our guests. This position organizes, confirms, processes, and conducts guest check-ins/outs, room reservations, requests, and inquiries. Under the direction of the Front Office Manager, the Guest Service Supervisor is responsible for the daily operation of the Front Desk and Living Room. Responsibilities Communicates with the Engineering Department regarding any maintenance requests from the guestsChecks AM and PM discrepancy reportsHas full understanding of software system and assists with reservationsCan perform all of the front desk functions to include Guest Services, Reservationists, Security, etcAssists Guest Service Agents by checking guests in and out of the hotelKnows how and where to post all chargesReceives money from guests for payment of hotel charges and makes correct changeHandles checks and credit cards received from the guests for payment of hotel chargesGives directions to hotel facilities, rooms and local area attractionsProvides for a safe work environment by following all safety and security procedures and rulesCommunicates with the Housekeeping Department regarding guest rooms and guest requestsTrains all new Guest Service Agents Fundamentals Ability to maintain a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor at all timesEducation: High school diploma or general education degree (GED)Experience: 1 year within a customer-facing roleAbility to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentagesIntermediate computer skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and ExcelFlexibility to work any shift, including evenings, weekends, and holidaysExcellent verbal and written interpersonal communication skillsProficiency in English required.
