GTM Engineer

Basis · New York, NY · 2 wk ago
Engineering$100/hrFull-time

About the role

The Growth Engineer will own the go-to-market engine end-to-end, from the systems that power it to the experiments that scale it. This is a greenfield build where you'll design the architecture, run the playbooks, and own the stack from day one through day 1000. You'll work directly alongside the Head of Sales and the founding RevOps hire, operating cross-functionally to ensure the systems and motions built drive revenue at every stage of growth.

Responsibilities

  • Own the GTM stack end-to-end: Architecture, data model, automation, and ongoing evolution.
  • If it touches pipeline, it’s yours.
  • Build and run outbound infrastructure: Own the tooling, sequencing, and data pipelines that power outbound at scale—from list building and enrichment to delivery and conversion tracking.
  • Design the integration layer: Connect the CRM to the full revenue stack—marketing automation, financial systems, data warehouse, and support tooling. Own the data contracts, field mapping, and sync logic across all of it.
  • Run paid acquisition experiments: Stand up and optimize paid channels (search, social, content syndication) with a bias toward fast iteration and measurable pipeline impact.
  • Evaluate and integrate tools like Clay, Gong, and Apollo into a coherent, non-redundant stack.
  • Partner with senior leadership: Translate business requirements from the founders and Head of Sales into architecture and growth decisions. Own the systems and experiments roadmap and bring a clear point of view on build vs. buy vs. run.

Requirements

  • 4–8 years in roles such as Growth Engineer, Marketing Engineer, Revenue Operations, or Sales Engineer—with clear ownership of outcomes, not just execution.
  • Hands-on GTM tooling experience: CRM configuration, automation, sequencing platforms, and the integrations that tie them together.
  • Proven track record running outbound or paid acquisition motions—ideally at an early-stage company without a dedicated marketing team.
  • Technical depth to read and write SQL, work with APIs, and build lightweight automations—enough to move fast without waiting on engineering.
  • High agency, low ego—identifies what needs to happen, drives it cross-functionally, and makes it happen.

Qualifications

  • Experience building a GTM motion from scratch at a Series A–C company.
  • Prior experience with AI or LLM tooling embedded in growth workflows.
  • Prior exposure to B2B SaaS, fintech, or professional services revenue motions.
  • Familiarity with PLG mechanics—free trials, activation funnels, expansion signals.

  • Hands-on experience with AI or LLM tooling embedded in growth workflows.

Benefits

  • Health & Wellness: Premium Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage; Life Insurance; and 6 coaching & 6 therapy sessions through Spring Health.
  • Time off: Unlimited PTO + 12 paid company holidays.
  • In-Office Perks: Daily meal stipends, a fully stocked kitchen, and $300 toward your custom desk setup.
  • Financial Benefits: Pre-tax commuter benefits and 401(k) retirement plan.
  • Team Culture: Monthly office activities and frequent optional team happy hours.
  • Parental Leave.
