Role Summary

The GTM Compensation and Insights Manager is responsible for designing, administering, and analyzing Temporal's sales compensation programs. Reporting to the Director of GTM Strategy and Analytics, this role involves running the monthly commission process, designing SPIFs and comp plans, and developing compensation policies. Key responsibilities include overseeing the commission review process, managing SPIFs, and leading compensation insights and analysis.

What You'll Do

  • Run the end-to-end monthly commission process, including calculating payouts and handling edge cases like consumption spikes, departing customers, and windfall situations.
  • Prepare and distribute the monthly Commission Review Decks to sales and finance leadership.
  • Triage and resolve disputes and questions from reps and managers.
  • Design and manage SPIFs across various segments, including New Logo, Growth, Consumption, Manager, SA, BDR, and Commit, while setting payout mechanics and handling retro adjustments.
  • Write and issue comp plans for Account Executives, BDRs, managers, and sales associates, including quota setting and BCR calculations.
  • Handle prorations for mid-year hires or changes and plan changes tied to promotions or role shifts.
  • Draft and propose new compensation policies, interpret existing terms, and manage commission software evaluations and implementations.
  • Maintain compensation data integrity across systems and partner with GTM Analytics for insights.

What You'll Need

  • 5-7 years of experience in sales compensation, commissions, or comp operations, preferably in a B2B SaaS or consumption-based business.
  • Strong Excel/Google Sheets modeling skills; SQL or BI tool experience is a plus.
  • Experience with commission platforms (e.g., CaptivateIQ, Xactly, or similar) and Salesforce.
  • A high attention to detail and comfort with a deadline-driven process.
  • Strong written communication skills for policy documentation and leadership reporting.

Compensation

The pay range for this role is $176,000 - $220,000. Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Temporal's equity plan.
