About the role
The Development Assistant for the Office of Development and Constituent Relations in the Graduate School and International Education (GSIE) will assist in supporting GSIE's approved fundraising goals and strategies by communicating with colleagues, donors, alumni, and constituents. This role is primarily administrative, including database management, record keeping, and occasional event or meeting planning. The position requires 20 hours per week, with duties performed at the Graduate School and elsewhere on campus as needed. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is essential, as is the ability to maintain collegial working relationships.
Responsibilities
- Support fundraising efforts through effective communication with donors, alumni, and constituents.
- Manage databases and maintain accurate records.
- Assist in planning and coordinating events or meetings as needed.
- Perform administrative tasks to support the goals of the GSIE program.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education.
- At least one year of experience in a customer-facing, administrative, communications, or closely related role.
Skills
- Proficiency in standard computer applications (word processing, spreadsheets, databases, internet applications) with the ability to learn new platforms.
- Experience in marketing, event management, communications, and social media.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion with sensitive information, including financial reports and constituent data.
- Strong professional communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Collaborative mindset with a willingness to take on new challenges and work effectively in a small, high-energy organization.

Pay
$21,500 annually, at 20 hours per week.
Schedule
Part-time, 20 hours per week. This position is 50% appointed, making the employee eligible for most benefits.
