About the role
We have an exciting opportunity at our GSA Talladega Facility for a problem solver and change agent ready to take our maintenance department to the next level. The Maintenance Technician will troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems on all manufacturing equipment.
Reports to: Maintenance Manager
Schedule: 1st shift, 8 AM to 5 PM
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems on all manufacturing equipment
- Perform manufacturing-related equipment preventive maintenance (PM’s)
- Adhere to safety requirements
- Safely troubleshoot live electrical panels
- Participate in problem-solving groups, Kaizens, and lean manufacturing activities
- Support maintenance department efforts toward achieving key measures
- Continuously learn to support various processes, such as thermal forming, adhesive, and assembly processes
- Operate powered industrial trucks, aerial lifts, and cranes
- Edit/modify control programs on programmable devices (e.g., Allen-Bradley SLC-500, ControlLogix, PanelView, PanelView Plus)
Requirements
- Experience in controls diagnostic, troubleshooting, and repair (multi-brand experience preferred; Allen-Bradley experience required)
- Minimum of 3 years working with and maintaining automated machinery
- Strong mechanical background
- Willingness to work overtime as needed and work any production shift
- Willingness to travel for short-term periods
- Ability to use basic machining tools, powered hand tools, and other maintenance-related equipment
- Ability to read machine drawings and control schematics
Desired Skills
- Fabrication/tooling experience
- Familiarity with robots and robot controllers
- Electrical journeyman card
- Experience working with a Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) system
- Experience working with smart cameras (e.g., Keyence, Cognex, Banner)
