Job Summary

The Group Vice President is responsible for driving performance in all areas of operations including revenue growth, profitability, clinical, compliance, revenue cycle management for a specific geographic network of addiction treatment centers. This includes managing and mentoring the Market Directors, as well as the treatment centers’ Program Directors. This critical role will also manage each treatment center’s performance in the following key areas: operations, financial, patient registration and revenue cycle management, right staffing, training, compliance, outreach, clinical care, and patient service.

Summary Of Essential Job Functions

  • Professional Development
    • Leadership, interpersonal skill development, and mentoring of Market Directors and Program Directors and other key leaders within the Group Vice President's assigned geography.
    • Establishment & Monitoring of Treatment Centers' Specific Annual Goals, Including Budget and Yearly Business Plans.
    • Closely work with the executive team to develop and monitor treatment center and area specific key performance metrics and financial metric achievement.
    • Development and launch of program expansion and ensure performance metrics are achieved, to include patient lives, clinical, bad debt, right staffing, patient satisfaction, etc.
  • Training
    • In partnership with Human Resources, ensure training in the following areas: Leadership, Outreach and Program Expansion, Regulatory Requirements, Company Policy & Procedure (P&P), Compliance, Clinical/Therapeutic Services, Medical/Nursing Services, Administration, Safety, Customer Service, Teamwork, Periodic development of training collateral to be used to train the organization’s team members.
    • Execution and supervision of monthly, quarterly, and annual training programs to ensure learning plans are up-to-date and late trainings are addressed.
  • Operational Efficiency And Financial Performance
    • Ensuring efficient operations within each treatment center across functional areas including, but not limited to: Team member utilization and allocation of resources, Patient qualification and admission efforts (demand capture and conversion), Medication preparation and delivery, Patient processing (queuing, payment, medicating, counseling, etc.), Patient chart preparation and monitoring, Supply management and usage, Effective management of the patient registration process to ensure patients third party reimbursement is valid, verified and services are authorized by patient registration teams, Monitoring and reporting on patient progress in treatment (outcomes), Integrating patient feedback into operations to improve patient satisfaction and retention, Monitoring patient fee charges and collection, Effective management of the patient registration process to ensure patients third party reimbursement is valid, verified and services are authorized by patient registration teams, Monitoring treatment team adherence to the organization’s treatment philosophy in both word and deed, Ensuring patients have ready access to wealth of resources (job assistance, education and job training, shelters, transition assistance, etc.) critical to achieving stability and integration back into their communities, Responsible for monitoring the markets’ treatment centers and related infrastructure to ensure they are maintained at a high standard of quality in both form and function, Responsible for proactively monitoring and addressing treatment centers’ performance issues, Continuous review of operational, financial, clinical, etc. dashboards and ensure all managers within the area of responsibility understand the dashboards, Identify positive and negative trends as well as the underlying drivers.
  • Staffing
    • Team Member qualification: The Group Vice President is responsible for ensuring team members within their region are qualified by appropriate education, credentials, and training.
    • Continuing Education/Credentialing: In partnership with Human Resources and Credentialing, ensure all team members maintain licensure as required by the state, federal, and licensing authorities.
    • Responsible for maintaining an adequate mix of team members necessary to provide best in class patient care.
    • Proactively manage team member recruitment and placement efforts to ensure adequate coverage at all times.
    • Responsible for monitoring team member satisfaction and engagement and developing action plans to address areas of concern.
    • Create and maintain high performing teams and ensure continuous feedback is provided.
    • Ensure performance concerns are addressed timely and appropriately.
    • Through Workforce Planning, ensure the right team members are in place at the right time and in the right roles.
    • Responsible for controlling labor costs, addressing any overstaff situations, and labor budget adherence.
  • Regulatory
    • Ensure all treatment centers within the assigned region adhere to all federal, state, and local regulatory agency requirements.
    • Ensure all team members are familiar with and can effectively communicate all current regulatory requirements.
    • Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with all key regulatory decision-makers and persons of influence within the assigned market.
    • Monitor and keep management and key leaders apprised of all regulatory changes as they occur within their assigned market.
  • Compliance
    • Works in conjunction with Compliance to ensure the following:
    • Ensure all team members are trained and well-versed in the Company’s P&P manual as it relates to compliance.
    • Ensure all team members are trained and well-versed in Joint Commission accreditation and reporting requirements.
    • Ensure all treatment centers’ company compliance reports are prepared thoroughly and submitted in a timely manner.
    • Monitor treatment center and team member compliance through testing, periodic local audits, formal and informal surveys, and by coordinating internal and third-party audit efforts.
    • Ensure all treatment centers prepare for and meet the annual accrediting agency reporting requirements.
    • Ensure that assigned team members and treatment centers are prepared for a federal, state, or accrediting agency inspection.
  • Outreach
    • Advance a culture of outreach that results in patient lives growth.
    • Assist in the preparation of marketing and outreach plans to be executed within the assigned area.
    • Execute and supervise/monitor of marketing and outreach activities assigned by the Sales and Marketing team.
    • Periodically coordinate and execute marketing and outreach preparation training activities to ensure the marketing and outreach programs are efficiently and effectively executed.
    • Periodically gather and organize critical data and feedback related to marketing and outreach activities.

    Minimum Requirements

    • The ideal candidate is a technically competent leader with significant experience in the healthcare space across economically and culturally diverse communities.
    • Must hold and maintain a valid driver’s license.
    • Management experience should include responsibility for operations, compliance, safety, accreditation, and quality of care.
    • In addition to meeting these qualifications, the ideal candidate will embody the following characteristics:
    • At least 5 years of relevant multi-unit operations leadership experience.
    • Strong financial acumen to include P&L management, with proven experience in driving financial results.
    • High integrity.
    • Sound judgment.
    • Efficient.
    • Self-starter.
    • Ability to maintain and communicate perspective.
    • Good at identifying, formulating long-term solutions, and solving problems.
    • Capable of effectively delivering positive feedback and constructive criticism to subordinates.
