About the role
The Group Tours Coordinator is responsible for planning and executing group tours and educational programs for visitors to the State Archives and History.
Responsibilities
- Plan and execute group tours and educational programs for visitors to the State Archives and History.
- Assist visitors with questions and provide guided tours.
- Manage logistics for group tours, including transportation arrangements and tour schedules.
- Prepare and maintain tour materials and resources.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure continuity and quality of tours and programs.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and accessibility standards.
Requirements
- No experience required.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Able to lift and carry materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Valid driver's license for travel to outreach activities, when applicable.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in customer service or event coordination is preferred.
Skills
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of Mississippi history and archives.
