Group Leader Warehouse

About the role

This position has functional leadership responsibilities. The shipping/warehouse lead is responsible for ensuring that the shipping department is maintained and product is processed according to customer specifications. The shipping lead ensures shipping associates maintain a clean, neat, and orderly warehouse and that all forklifts are properly maintained.

Responsibilities

• Work with the shipping manager regarding the scheduling of shipping associates
• Oversee the proper processing of product packaging and storage
• Assist with proper loading procedures as needed
• Maintain communication with shipping manager and production supervisors
• Directly supervise associates in the shipping department
• Plan, assign, and direct the workforce in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws
• Ensure all orders are billed and shipped correctly
• Notify Shipping Manager of any personnel problems
• Provide feedback to department associates concerning their responsibilities to safety and quality

Requirements

• Previous experience in the shipping/warehouse department
• Trained and certified forklift operator
• Excellent attendance

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to schedule department associates for efficient operation
• Knowledge of proper packaging and placement in warehouse
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Knowledge and use of proper PPE when required

Schedule

3rd Shift: 11 p.m. – 7 a.m., Monday – Friday
