Group Leader, Multiple Locations

About the Role

Camp Fire North Shore is seeking enthusiastic, reliable, and caring Group Leaders to support our dynamic after-school programs. This role is essential in creating a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment where children in kindergarten through eighth grade can learn, grow, and thrive. As a Group Leader, you will help shape meaningful daily experiences through hands-on activities, academic enrichment, and social-emotional learning. This is a school-year position, with opportunities for continued employment in our Summer Day Camp programs.

All Staff Are Expected To:

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and lead engaging, age-appropriate activities aligned with Camp Fire and site location goals
• Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive environment
• Support children with varying abilities using inclusive practices
• Reinforce school-day learning through hands-on experiences
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized space
• Supervise children and ensure safety compliance
• Observe and document student progress and needs
• Communicate effectively with Site Coordinator
• Build relationships with children and staff
• Participate in meetings and 12+ hours of annual professional development
• Obtain First Aid/CPR certification within 6 months of hire (required for all EEC staff)
• Employees who are not yet certified must be supervised at all times and may not be left alone with children until certification is completed

Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years of age and meet one of the following:

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree + 3 months professional experience
• High school diploma + 6 months professional experience (including 3 months licensed program)
• 9 months professional experience with school-age children (including 3 months licensed program)

Additional Requirements

• CORI, SORI, fingerprinting background checks
• Completion of EEC onboarding requirements prior to start
• Must meet all EEC licensing requirements for school-age programs
