Position Summary

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Group Facilitator – Brooklyn – Warren Street – M‑F 2:00 p – 6:00 p. Under the supervision of the School‑Age Program Coordinator, the successful candidate will be responsible for the day‑to‑day operations and development of the Warren Street Center school‑age program, as well as the direct operation of a school‑age classroom. This includes participating in ongoing staff development and program evaluation, curriculum planning and implementation, parent engagement, and program operations.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist the School‑Age Coordinator and the Education Director in annually determining the goals, objectives, tasks, resources, and timeline for the school‑age program.
• Help establish mechanisms to assess program quality and impact.
• Ensure implementation of the center’s mission statement, philosophy, and curriculum.
• Observe and assess staff to evaluate service delivery quality, identify development needs, and arrange appropriate workshops and off‑site staff development opportunities.
• Develop and participate in an in‑house staff development training program using a modeling and train‑the‑trainer approach, including orientation of new staff and facilitating knowledge sharing.
• Regularly observe and record each child’s behavior and progress, create individualized education plans, develop weekly lesson plans, complete quarterly program plans, and execute appropriate curriculum; review and provide feedback on written documentation.
• Meet regularly with the school‑age coordinator, education director, and school‑age staff to plan, coordinate, assess, and enhance year‑round curricula (e.g., bi‑weekly staff meetings, monthly meetings with the education director, and full‑staff meetings).
• Act as liaison between the center, primary caregivers, and the community; establish communication systems to promote the center’s mission, inform caregivers of their role, and enlist support and involvement from caregivers and community leaders.
• Collaborate with school‑age staff and external program specialists (e.g., Project Reach Youth, Brooklyn Conservatory of Music, The Metropolitan Museum of Art) to develop educational program enhancements, and establish mechanisms to plan, monitor, and assess their benefits.
• Identify and secure resources to strengthen the program, including arranging site visits and trips outside the center.
• Establish referral procedures and networks to assist staff in addressing participants’ educational, health, social, and special needs.
• Assist the School‑Age Coordinator and the Education Director with administrative, management, and program matters, including facilitating committees (e.g., policy and procedures), and creating or revising admission procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in education or a related field
• Two years teaching experience
• Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization

Pay

The salary range for this role is $18.01 – $20.00 hourly. Actual compensation depends on experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The listed range does not include bonuses, incentive pay, differential pay, or other forms of compensation.
