Group Director

About the role

Group Directors provide exceptional service to clients and support Financial Advisor(s) (FAs)/Private Wealth Advisor(s) (PWAs)/teams on a daily basis. This senior service-level position is responsible for shaping the client service model and business management by defining clear roles and responsibilities for each team member and overseeing daily business operations. The Group Director leads the development, implementation, and management of all elements of the team’s client service model.

Responsibilities

• Cultivate relationships with internal and external business partners and colleagues
• Support the FA/PWA/team in cultivating and enhancing new and existing client relationships through an exceptional client experience
• Lead the development and delivery of the client service model, including preparing for regular meetings and tracking follow-ups
• Prepare and review client reports or financial plans from firm-approved systems for existing or prospective clients at the direction of the client and/or FA/PWA/team
• Participate in existing client and/or prospective client meetings when requested, representing the service lens
• Collaborate with the FA/PWA/team and other business partners to optimize business practice efficiencies
• Oversee team Support Professionals to ensure alignment on team priorities and business goals
• Coordinate business matters related to the team, ensuring they are directed to the appropriate contact, addressed efficiently, and tracked until resolved
• Work with the Business Service Officer (BSO) to oversee team responsibilities such as interviewing Support Professional candidates, training team members, and providing input on staff performance
• Oversee the development and implementation of strategies to execute FA/PWA business plans, including performance tracking and managing support staff compensation
• Collaborate with the Market Business Service Officer and/or BSO to promote and execute firm initiatives, projects, and remediations
• Manage team client communications strategy

Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills

Education and/or Experience

• 10+ years of relevant work experience required
• Advanced degree or professional certification or equivalent industry experience required
• Active Series 7 (GS) and Series 66 (AG/RA) or Series 63 (AG) and Series 65 (RA) required
• Willingness to obtain additional licenses and/or designations as required

Knowledge/Skills

• Strong leadership skills
• Knowledge of financial services products, including equities, bonds, options, mutual funds, annuities, insurance, and managed accounts
• Technical proficiency and quick learner of new and updated platforms
• Detail-oriented with superior organizational skills and ability to prioritize
• Exceptional knowledge of basic personal computer, MS Office (particularly MS Excel), and internet applications
• Exceptional writing, interpersonal, and client service skills
• Strong time management skills
• Team player with the ability to collaborate with others
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment
• Adaptable and able to multi-task
• Goal-oriented, self-motivated, and results-driven

Business Service Officer and/or Market Business Service Officer

Pay

Salary range: $75,000 to $125,000 per year. The successful candidate may be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive compensation award and may participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which may include a discretionary bonus component.
