Groundskeeper

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plants, transplants, fertilizes, waters, prunes, and cares for flowers, shrubs, and trees.
• Mows, waters, fertilizes, and cares for lawns.
• Sows seed and lays sod.
• Operates and/or receives on the job training in the operation of various grounds maintenance equipment as directed.
• Removes snow and ice from walkways, roadways, and parking lots.
• Removes leaves, litter, etc. from campus grounds, parking lots, roadways, walkways, and buildings.
• Maintains roads and parking lots as required.
• Affords assistance in performing some custodial duties and may be assigned indoor work as directed.
• Affords assistance in the orientation of new employees or students as directed.
• Performs miscellaneous labor.
• Operates two-way radio.
• Cleans garage and storage compound.
• Fuels and cleans trucks.
• Clean tools.
• Completes all work orders in SchoolDude in a timely manner.
• Performs specialized tasks during adverse weather conditions and college closures.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

• A high school diploma or equivalent and experience in grounds maintenance related work.
• Ability to operate motorized maintenance equipment is required and must be demonstrated.
• Duties require walking, stooping, climbing, working at extreme heights and lifting heavy equipment and materials.
• Must be available to work flexible shifts, if required.
• Must have a current Arkansas driver's license.
• Ability to read, write, follow oral and written instructions.
• Lifting objects weighing more than 50 pounds.
• Ability to withstand extreme hot/cold weather.
• Ability to work overtime and/or weekends.
• Ability to work safely with hazardous chemicals.

PAY

$12.00 per hour.
