About the role

The Practice Manager at Henderson is responsible for overseeing the production staff, managing projects, and fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment. This role is highly matrixed, requiring close collaboration with various team members across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Affirms the alignment of resources with projects to enhance labor efficiency and meet client expectations.
  • Provides feedback to the Practice Director and Sector Operations Director on staffing needs and client expectations.
  • Serves as the hiring manager for the practice, conducting interviews for production staff and project managers.
  • Supervises production staff in project execution and client service to ensure consistent service delivery across projects.
  • Maintains employee performance and operational needs, including evaluations, development plans, and disciplinary actions.
  • Manages client relationships within the geographical region and serves as a strategic client contact for assigned practices and other practices expanding into new regions.
  • Assists in proposal generation and determining a profitable fee structure aligned with the practice strategy.
  • Serves as the Project Manager for critical clients and projects within the practice, as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, science, technology, marketing, or business, or equivalent experience.
  • Eight (8) or greater years of relevant experience, with a minimum of two (2) years in personnel or project management.
  • Proven track record in growing and developing client-focused engineering teams and motivating, directing, and coaching staff.
  • Broad proficiency in engineering design fundamentals and advanced knowledge of the A&E industry, codes, design guides, and standards.
