Grinding Utility Operator (Night Shift- $3 Shift Differential)

About the role

The Grinding Utility Operator moves raw ingredients inside the site, loads/unloads trailers, and prepares ingredients for mixing. This role works several positions throughout the site with the intent of preparing ingredients for mixing.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensuring that raw materials are available for production lines on time
• Communicate potential shortages to relevant stakeholders
• Maintain close contact with Operations team to ensure that there are no delays in manufacture
• Raise relevant escalations that have an impact on safety, quality and efficiency

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma / GED
• Forklift experience required
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment; must be coachable
• Passion to work and learn in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to act with disciplined initiative
• Working knowledge of computer programs for entering data
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• 1+ years' experience within manufacturing, technical and/or trade discipline
• Comfortable working with different business systems like SAP, ATMS and week plan

Physical Requirements

• Frequent lifting/carrying (10-55 lbs.) and frequent pushing/pulling (50-200 lbs.)
• Frequent handling/gripping/bending/stooping
• Ability to work at elevated heights off a ladder or platform, climb stairs, leaning over equipment
• Ability to stand and/or work on feet for extended periods

Compensation

• Shift differential of $3.00/hour
• Pay based on experience

Schedule

12-hour shifts, rotating schedule. Night shift is 6:00 pm to 6:30 am; 4 days on and 4 days off.
