About the role
This is a floater position covering assembly line work, machine operation, and forklift duties. The role requires forklift experience and operates on a rotating night shift schedule:
- Night Shift: 7:00pm - 7:00am
- Week 1: Mon, Tues, Sat, Sun
- Week 2: Wed, Thurs, Fri
Responsibilities
- Conduct initial inspection of manufactured parts for defects; escalate issues as required
- Record all activities of assigned shift by completing proper forms (job activity sheets, break sheets, etc.)
- Communicate with the shift lead and QC inspectors
- Replenish raw materials
- Report machine issues to technicians and perform minor troubleshooting
- Perform end-of-day clean-up duties and other required housekeeping
- Follow all ITW Medical rules, regulations, Manufacturing Instructions, and Operating Procedures
- Become fully trained in all areas of machine operation as per Standard Operating Procedures
Requirements
- 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to read and comprehend Operating Instructions and Manufacturing Specifications
- Basic math skills: add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals; compute ratios and percentages
- Three years’ experience operating and maintaining automation equipment
- Experience with vision inspection equipment preferred
- Experience with 6-axis robots preferred
- Experience with pneumatic systems preferred
- Corrected eyesight of 20/20 for visual quality inspections
- Basic computer skills: data entry, Microsoft Suite, and custom business software
- Forklift operation experience
- Some knowledge or experience in injection molding, assembly, and/or hybrid machine operation processes
Physical Demands
- Stand for 90% of the work shift
- Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to handle tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, or crawl
- Frequently required to talk or hear
- Must frequently lift and move 10-50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required: close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
