Machine Operator - 12 hour rotating night shifts

About the Role

Agru America, Inc. is a global leader in manufacturing plastics and geosynthetics, with over 70 years of industry experience. Based in Georgetown, South Carolina, we are expanding our team and seeking motivated individuals to join our manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor manufacturing equipment to ensure optimal performance
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on machinery
• Follow production schedules and meet quality standards
• Collaborate with team members to improve production processes
• Maintain accurate records of production data and equipment maintenance
• Adhere to safety protocols and promote a safe working environment
• Assist in training new employees in manufacturing procedures
• Maintain an understanding of raw materials and their appropriate manufacturing locations
• Check the quality of products through examination, measurement, and weighing
• Inform the shift supervisor about product quality issues, equipment problems, and safety concerns
• Perform any other duties assigned by the company as needed

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (required)
• Technical degree or certification (preferred)
• Experience with 5S methodology (preferred)
• Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment (1+ year, required)
• Experience as a machine mechanic (preferred)
• Basic electrical knowledge (preferred)
• Overhead crane experience (preferred)
• Quality control experience (preferred)
• Forklift experience (required)

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
• Requires standing, walking, utilizing stairs or ladders, driving automatic forklift, climbing, squatting, stooping, twisting, bending, grabbing, and grasping
• Must be able to work in a non-controlled environment
