Grinder Production (Machinist Intern) - 1st Shift DSC
About the role
Sets up and operates internal, centerless, surface, external, thread and universal grinders for production, experimental, and tool work. Must be able and is required to perform any type of difficult grinding work on any and all types of grinders.
Grinds steps, tapers, recesses, shoulders, angles, contours, and threads. Must be able to set up truing devices on thread grinding for various types and forms of threads. Selects proper speeds, feeds, and wheels. Holds work for required tolerances. Setups are exacting, usually requiring firm and accurately set fixtures, rests or blocks.
This position is temporary, with a maximum duration of two years.
Tools & Equipment Used
All types of grinders, machinists’ hand tools, precision measuring instruments.
Qualifications
Two years of production grinding experience or the equivalent technical education.

- Must be a U.S. person as defined by the ITAR/EAR, or meet eligibility requirements for access to export-restricted information
- Must meet eligibility requirements, including US Citizenship, for access to classified information
