Responsibilities
- Sets up and operates internal, centerless, surface, external, thread, and universal grinders for production, experimental, and tool work.
- Performs difficult grinding work on all types of grinders, including grinding steps, tapers, recesses, shoulders, angles, contours, and threads.
- Sets up truing devices on thread grinding for various types and forms of threads.
- Selects proper speeds, feeds, and wheels for grinding tasks.
- Maintains required tolerances; setups are exacting, often requiring firm and accurately set fixtures, rests, or blocks.
Requirements
- Two years of production grinding experience or equivalent technical education.
- Ability to use all types of grinders, machinists’ hand tools, and precision measuring instruments.
- Position is limited to a maximum duration of two years.
- Must qualify as a U.S. person (U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee) due to ITAR/EAR regulations.
- Subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Schedule
Full-time, first shift.
