Grinder Production (Machinist Intern) - 1st Shift DSC

Responsibilities

• Sets up and operates internal, centerless, surface, external, thread, and universal grinders for production, experimental, and tool work.
• Performs difficult grinding work on all types of grinders, including grinding steps, tapers, recesses, shoulders, angles, contours, and threads.
• Sets up truing devices on thread grinding for various types and forms of threads.
• Selects proper speeds, feeds, and wheels for grinding tasks.
• Maintains required tolerances; setups are exacting, often requiring firm and accurately set fixtures, rests, or blocks.

Requirements

• Two years of production grinding experience or equivalent technical education.
• Ability to use all types of grinders, machinists’ hand tools, and precision measuring instruments.
• Position is limited to a maximum duration of two years.
• Must qualify as a U.S. person (U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee) due to ITAR/EAR regulations.
• Subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
