Job Summary
Responsible for transporting scrap material from sheet extrusion lines to the grinding room by performing the following duties. Must be able to work B Shift: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday Every other Sunday 6:45PM to 7:00AM. $1.00 per hour shift differential applies to this position.
Maintain a Clean and Orderly Work Area/Warehouse
- Maintains a clean and orderly work area/warehouse
Maintain a Safe Working Environment
- Maintains a safe working environment by following all company safety policies and procedures
- Reports unsafe conditions and incidents
Maintain Company's Quality Standards
- Grinds scrap material to re-grind material for reuse, while ensuring it will meet customer standards as stated on the work order or ISO document
- Operates and cleans grinders, starts and stops features, changes blades, recognizes grinder lock out/tag out
Perform or Support Staging or Packaging Process
- Scrap material boxes
- Removal of finished product from line(s) or the stacking table
- Operation of hoist
- Application of stretch wrap, endplates
- Keeping the line stocked with proper size pallets/skids
- Labels and banding the proper pallet/skid as indicated on the work order and/or ISO documents
Accountable for a Visual Inspection of Product
- Accountable for Quality Standards but not limited to daily production log book, quality control documents or forms and data collection procedures
Inform Manager of Any Equipment Malfunctions
- Informs manager of any equipment malfunctions in a timely manner
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Maintain a current certification in lift truck operation and an aerial lift operation
- Read production tickets
- Work at an accelerated pace
- Perform math calculations; and measure using measuring tape or other instruments
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Must be computer literate
- Must be dedicated to continuous improvement
- Able to lift 50 pounds, bend, stretch, or stand for extended periods of time
