Responsibilities

• Build stringers by placing patterned cut pieces received from the mill department into the appropriate building fixture.
• Place stringers on mobile dolly.
• Perform visual inspections before laminating.
• Report defects to lead so they can be corrected.
• Check resin spray equipment for proper operation.
• Sand rough areas to remove obstructions when installing stringers.
• Trim holes and excess laminate off of boat decks using saws, drills and sanders.
• After laminated decks are pulled, trim or cut holes in the deck using saws and drills.
• Trim excess laminate around the perimeter of the deck.
• Clean and oil all tools thoroughly and frequently.
• Send damaged tools to maintenance for repairs.
• Keep grind templates properly labeled and organized, making accurate measurements.
• Apply resin and fiberglass to hull molds by hand using spray guns and rollers.
• Ensure smooth, consistent lamination with no air voids.
• Perform equipment checks, surface prep, and tool maintenance.
• Spray gel-coat evenly over entire mold with correct thickness using a mil gauge.
• Restore and repair fiberglass hull molds with precision, involving sanding, buffing, and detailed bodywork using power tools.
• Wash boats and transport them in and out of the wash area using brushes and tools.
• Operate boat transporting machine and equipment.
• Wipe boats down dry with cloths.

Requirements

• Attention to detail.
• Fiberglass handling skills.
• Concentration and manual dexterity.
• Upper body strength (for mold repair).
• Skill in fiberglass repair methods.
• Ability to operate various saws, drills, sanders, spray guns, rollers, and gel-coat equipment.
• Familiarity with boat transporting machine and equipment.
• Seeking skilled Painters and Gel Coaters.

Pay

Competitive pay starting at $22/hour based on experience.

Schedule

2nd shift (for Build Up and Gel Coater positions).
