Greenskeeper

About the Role

The Greenskeeper maintains the aesthetics and playability of the golf course by performing a diverse range of maintenance activities.

Responsibilities

• Maintain golf course using power and hand tools to perform duties such as mowing, weeding, edging, course set-up, raking sand bunkers, blowing, sod installation, fertilizing, planting flowers and shrubs.
• Operate and maintain utility vehicles and equipment, following standards and safety guidelines.
• Deliver "I Am Proud" service standards and department-specific signature touch points.
• Establish cross-departmental channels of communication among teammates that are consistent and complete.
• Mow greens, tees, fairways, approaches, step cut, and rough.
• Rake sand bunkers by hand or with power rake.
• String trim around trees, bunkers, flowerbeds, signs, ball washers, etc.
• Set up golf course.
• Maintain flowerbeds.
• Aerate greens, tees, fairways, approaches, and rough.
• Assist in small irrigation and drainage projects.
• Edge cart paths, bunkers, irrigation heads, flowerbeds, and yardage stones.
• Maintain daily shop upkeep and cleanliness.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Requires basic employment skills in clerical, service, or manual areas.
• Previous golf maintenance experience valued but not required.
• Valid Driver's License.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

Environmental factors may include indoor settings with overhead lighting and comfortable ventilation. May occasionally be called upon to work in all areas of the property, both inside and outside, possibly in inclement weather.

• Occasionally: Sitting, crawling, balancing, climbing on scaffolds or ladders, working above ground, working below ground.
• Frequently: Standing, walking, bending over, reaching, crouching, kneeling, pushing/pulling, lifting/carrying (10 lbs. or less, 11 to 25 lbs., 26 to 50 lbs., 51 to 70 lbs.), manual dexterity, fine motor skills, gross motor skills, eye/hand coordination, near vision, far vision, color recognition, hearing.
• Environmental Factors: Working outside, working inside, working closely with others, excessive cold/heat, excessive humidity/dampness, noise/vibrations, working with chemicals/detergents/cleaners, working around fumes/smoke/gas, walking on uneven surfaces, operating motorized equipment or vehicles, working around/near machinery/motorized equipment.
