Greenskeeper

About the Role

Foothills Golf Course is seeking candidates to join our golf course maintenance team. This position is responsible for maintaining excellent playing conditions on a daily basis for the golfing public. Experience is preferred but not required. On-the-job training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all areas of the golf course, including greens, tees, fairways, roughs, clubhouse grounds, and driving range area.
• Mowing of turf areas, bunker raking and edging, topdressing of greens and tees.
• Tree, shrub, and flower planting and maintenance.
• Course setup and other grounds-related maintenance tasks.
• Operate various gasoline and diesel power equipment, including tractors, mowers, bunker rakes, weed eaters, and blowers.
• Perform general grounds cleaning, including blowing sidewalks and collecting trash.
• Conduct pre-operation inspections and daily cleaning/preventative maintenance of equipment.
• Assist with maintenance center cleanup and organization.
• Maintain and repair sprinkler/drainage systems as assigned.
• Attend staff meetings, trainings, and orientations.
• Respond to public inquiries courteously and resolve complaints efficiently.
• Identify and report hazards or issues to the supervisor.

Schedule

Typical schedule during the busy summer golf season:

• Monday through Friday: 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM
• Saturday and Sunday: 5:00 AM to 7:30 AM on a rotating basis

Weekend work is required on a rotating basis determined by the Assistant Superintendent and Golf Course Superintendent.

Requirements

• Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age at the time of application.
• Ability to move/lift 75 lbs.
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Certain individuals may be asked to drive District vehicles, requiring a valid Driver’s License and a satisfactory driving record.

Qualifications

Greenskeeper I: $17.50/hour

• No previous experience required.
• Training available.

Greenskeeper II: $18.25/hour

• One (1) year of seasonal experience, including performance of all basic golf course maintenance activities.
