Kelly Outsourcing Consulting Group (Kelly OCG), a managed solution provider and business unit of Kelly Services, Inc., is seeking a Greenhouse Technician for a long-term engagement at a global agriculture client in Indianapolis, IN. This is a full-time, fully benefited position.
Responsibilities
- Watering greenhouses & growth chambers daily.
- Organizing plant orders within greenhouses based on watering and research needs.
- Performing pesticide applications as part of a team.
- Scouting for pests on plants in greenhouse on a regular basis.
- Preparing greenhouse plant waste for devitalization.
- Maintaining cleanliness of greenhouses and corridor.
- Stock PPE stations in each greenhouse wing.
- Weekly safety eye wash/shower testing.
- Preparation and staging of pots and flats for soil requests.
- Proactively support internal customers by independently handling all assigned duties and taking direction from and balancing the needs of multiple organizations.
- Take initiative. Be aware of work area and report anything that is out of the ordinary quickly.
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED or local equivalent.
- Commitment to safety for self, others, and the environment.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to withstand work in greenhouses with temperatures between 85-100°F.
- Ability to tolerate working in environments with presence of pollen, molds, mildews, soil, insects, and plant debris.
- Reliable, strong work ethic, self-motivated, with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow SOPs required for work.
- Ability to discern (with training) when plants/greenhouses are outside of normal/expected parameters.
- Ability to obtain state pest application license within 60 days of employment (training provided).
- Ability to lift ~25 lbs.
- Ability to stand, bend, push/pull, and walk for more than 4 hours/day.
- Prompt and clear communication of any concerns to leader.
- Good interpersonal & professional skills in a research environment.
- Basic computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Some greenhouse work experience, farm, or agriculture background.
- Some college-level agriculture/plant science education.
- Some understanding of plant and/or horticulture physiology.

Pay
$19/hr on weekdays; $26/hr on weekends.
Schedule
7AM–5:30PM
- Week 1: Tues, Sat, Sun
- Week 2: Mon, Wed, Thurs, Fri
Training for 3 weeks on Mon–Fri, 7AM–4PM.
