Kelly Outsourcing Consulting Group (Kelly OCG), a managed solution provider and business unit of Kelly Services, Inc., is seeking a Greenhouse Technician for a long-term engagement at a global agriculture client in Indianapolis, IN. This is a full-time, fully benefited position.

Responsibilities

  • Watering greenhouses & growth chambers daily.
  • Organizing plant orders within greenhouses based on watering and research needs.
  • Performing pesticide applications as part of a team.
  • Scouting for pests on plants in greenhouse on a regular basis.
  • Preparing greenhouse plant waste for devitalization.
  • Maintaining cleanliness of greenhouses and corridor.
  • Stock PPE stations in each greenhouse wing.
  • Weekly safety eye wash/shower testing.
  • Preparation and staging of pots and flats for soil requests.
  • Proactively support internal customers by independently handling all assigned duties and taking direction from and balancing the needs of multiple organizations.
  • Take initiative. Be aware of work area and report anything that is out of the ordinary quickly.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED or local equivalent.
  • Commitment to safety for self, others, and the environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to withstand work in greenhouses with temperatures between 85-100°F.
  • Ability to tolerate working in environments with presence of pollen, molds, mildews, soil, insects, and plant debris.
  • Reliable, strong work ethic, self-motivated, with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow SOPs required for work.
  • Ability to discern (with training) when plants/greenhouses are outside of normal/expected parameters.
  • Ability to obtain state pest application license within 60 days of employment (training provided).
  • Ability to lift ~25 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, bend, push/pull, and walk for more than 4 hours/day.
  • Prompt and clear communication of any concerns to leader.
  • Good interpersonal & professional skills in a research environment.
  • Basic computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Some greenhouse work experience, farm, or agriculture background.
  • Some college-level agriculture/plant science education.
  • Some understanding of plant and/or horticulture physiology.

Pay

$19/hr on weekdays; $26/hr on weekends.

Schedule

7AM–5:30PM

  • Week 1: Tues, Sat, Sun
  • Week 2: Mon, Wed, Thurs, Fri

Training for 3 weeks on Mon–Fri, 7AM–4PM.
