Part-time position during the school year (15-20 hours per week); 40 hours during summer. Location: Green Lake School. Non-exempt.

About the Role

The Green Lake Site Coordinator oversees the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of programming for youth ages 5 through 6th grade. This role supports priority outcome areas including Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, Good Character, and Citizenship. The coordinator provides leadership and supervision to program staff, volunteers, and mentors, and manages assigned expenses.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and oversee Club programs and activities to support Youth Development Outcomes:
    • Establish program objectives consistent with organizational goals and mission.
    • Oversee day-to-day program operations in accordance with established standards and goals.
    • Encourage member participation in a variety of programs and provide constructive feedback to develop skills.
    • Demonstrate leadership to ensure conduct, safety, and development of members.
  • Program Development and Implementation:
    • Execute the requirements of the 21st Century Community Learning Center Grant in partnership with the Green Lake School District.
    • Support program goals ensuring the health and safety of members.
    • Ensure site staff understand and communicate program standards, maintain safe program areas, and keep equipment in good working order.
    • Build relationships with school personnel and align out-of-school time programming with academic goals.
    • Actively participate in and support school events while promoting Club programming.
    • Establish and maintain community partnerships to enhance programming offerings.
    • Evaluate Club programs continually to respond to members' needs and address gender and cultural diversity.
    • Oversee program expenditures within the approved budget.
    • Compile regular reports on activities, attendance, and participation.
    • Support grant-funded programming implementation and ensure grant requirements are met, including grant reporting and outcome tracking.
  • Supervision:
    • Allocate and monitor work assigned to program volunteers and staff, providing ongoing feedback and regular appraisal.
    • Identify and support training and development opportunities for staff and volunteers.
    • Maintain proper record-keeping and reporting, including activities, participation figures, and notable achievements.
    • Support productive and effective performance by all program staff and volunteers.
    • Manage employee schedules, vacation requests, and support HR in payroll, performance management, and onboarding.
    • Oversee the Club’s member management system, ensuring accurate data entry and financial entries, and assist with compiling reports.
  • Marketing, Communications, and Public Relations:
    • Increase visibility of Club programs by posting daily schedules, announcing upcoming events, and providing timely information for advertising and promotion.
    • Actively recruit members to ensure continued growth of average daily attendance and membership metrics.
    • Communicate effectively with parents regarding program materials, forms, and any behavioral incidents or injuries related to their child’s participation.
  • Additional Responsibilities:
    • Support special programs and events (e.g., Keystones, Youth of the Year, Awards programs).
    • Drive the Club’s 12-passenger van as needed.
    • Exercise authority in addressing member-related problems using the guidance and discipline plan.
  • Relationships:
    • Maintain daily contact with Club staff (professional and volunteer), members, and supervisor to discuss issues, provide instructions, and offer counsel.
    • Maintain external contact with community groups, schools, parents, and others to assist in resolving problems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college/university preferred, but not required.
  • Experience with and/or knowledge of Boys & Girls Clubs' mission and programs.
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving history.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple complex projects.
  • Commitment to serve as a Mandated Reporter; willingness to complete Mandatory Child & Sexual Abuse Training.
  • Willingness to obtain CPR and First Aid certification.

  • High energy level; comfortable performing multifaceted projects.
  • Ability to be active for long periods and function under fast-paced and noisy conditions.
  • Ability to think clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods.
  • Physical requirements: sight, hearing, sitting, standing, stooping, ability to go up and down stairs, running, strenuous sports-related activities, and lifting a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Ability to get along with diverse personalities; tact, maturity, and flexibility.

Pay

$19-$23 per hour.
