GRCES Preschool Assistant Teacher(s) for 26–27 school year

Grand Rapids Christian Elementary School, Iroquois Campus is seeking a Preschool Assistant Teacher to work up to 5 days per week in a play-based program for 3–5 year olds focused on the growth of the whole child. Applicants must meet state licensing requirements and possess a deep commitment to Christian education.

About the role

Part-time, hourly positions available for the 2026–27 school year (14–35 hours/week). Reports to the Preschool Director and coordinates with the Preschool Lead Teacher and administrative staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe environment and active supervision for students by following all licensing guidelines
• Assist the preschool lead teacher with instructional support, classroom management, and activities
• Encourage creative thinking and learning
• Manage attendance
• Maintain daily cleanliness and organization of learning spaces
• Coordinate with preschool teacher teammates

Requirements

• High school graduate (or GED) and at least 18 years of age
• Preferred experience working with children
• CPR/First Aid Certified (can be completed after employment)
• Complete and pass the state-required background check
• Complete required, on-going trainings if offered the position
• Able to sit on the floor with children and move around for long periods of time
• Patient and supportive approach to working with children
