GRCES Evergreen Preschool Assistant Teacher(s) for 26–27 school year

Part-time school-year position (16–35 hours/week) at Grand Rapids Christian Elementary School, Evergreen Campus.

About the role

Grand Rapids Christian Elementary School, Evergreen Campus, is seeking new Preschool Assistant Teacher(s) to work 2–5 days per week. Our preschool program is for 3–5 year olds, play-based, and focused on the growth of the whole child. Applicants must meet licensing requirements and possess a deep commitment to Christian education.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe environment and active supervision for students by following all licensing guidelines
• Assist the preschool lead teacher with instructional support, classroom management and activities
• Encourage creative thinking and learning
• Manage attendance
• Daily clean and organize the learning spaces
• Coordinate with preschool teacher teammates

Requirements

• High school graduate (or GED) and at least 18 years of age
• Preferred experience working with children
• CPR/First Aid Certified (can be completed after employment)
• Complete and pass the state-required background check
• Complete the required on-going trainings, if offered the position
• Have a patient and supportive approach to working with children with the learning process
• Able to sit on the floor with children and move around for long periods of time
• Preschool Assistant Teacher is a disciple of Christ, culturally competent, a thoughtful neighbor, justice seeker, creative solution finder, lifelong explorer, communicator, and collaborator
