Graphic Designer, Jr.
About The Role
The Junior Graphic Designer at 4over plays a vital role in supporting the creative and production teams by ensuring the accurate preparation of print files and supporting the execution of various print projects. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented designer who possesses a strong interest in print production, pre-press processes, and quality control.
This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to develop layouts, pre-flight files, and manage assets, all while adhering to strict production standards. While this position is remote, candidates located near one of our production facilities will be prioritized to facilitate collaboration and operational alignment.
Qualifications
- 1-3 years of professional graphic design experience, preferably in print, production, or pre-press environments
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop
- Strong understanding of print concepts such as bleeds, trim, safety margins, overprint, and knockout
- Experience with file preparation for digital and offset printing, including color management and asset packaging
- Knowledge of CMYK and spot color workflows, including Pantone specifications
- Attention to detail with the ability to identify and correct errors in files and proofs
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and management
- Able to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Familiarity with project management tools such as Jira, HubSpot, or similar platforms is a plus
- Basic understanding of paper stocks, weights, and finishing techniques is preferred
Responsibilities
- Aid in layout development and versioning for various print materials, including large-format graphics, marketing collateral, and custom packaging
- Execute updates and modifications efficiently while maintaining brand consistency and production standards
- Review and prepare files for digital and offset printing, ensuring proper bleed, resolution, font embedding, and transparency handling
- Manage color workflows, including CMYK and spot colors, and perform basic color corrections and image adjustments
- Create, update, and maintain production-ready templates to streamline workflow processes
- Conduct quality control checks by reviewing proofs against job specifications to ensure accuracy prior to final production
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support design and production needs, adapting to changing project requirements
- Communicate any issues or discrepancies to management promptly for resolution
- Maintain organized asset libraries and documentation to support efficient production workflows
