Responsibilities
- Teach design principles, including typography, color theory, layout, visual hierarchy, branding, logo design, and print/digital design.
- Guide students in mastering Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
- Explain design thinking, grid systems, and visual communication theory while preparing students for design careers and portfolio development.
- Develop design concepts, software proficiency, and visual communication strategies.
- Assist students with typography selection, color palette creation, logo development, layout composition, and file preparation for print/digital output.
- Emphasize the design process from research to final execution and connect graphic design to branding, marketing, UX, and visual storytelling.
- Adapt instruction using design briefs, software tutorials, and portfolio projects to support students from beginners to advanced designers.
- Identify and address common student challenges, such as mastering Adobe tools and understanding print vs. digital production.
- Use effective teaching methods, including multiple approaches to explain concepts and adapting to individual learning styles.
Requirements
- Deep knowledge of graphic design principles and proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
- Ability to teach design thinking, grid systems, and visual communication theory.
- Experience with curriculum awareness and adaptive instruction for graphic design students.
- Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
- Ability to adapt to different learning styles and student needs.
