Responsibilities

• Teach design principles, including typography, color theory, layout, visual hierarchy, branding, logo design, and print/digital design.
• Guide students through the design thinking process, grid systems, and visual communication theory.
• Prepare students for design careers and portfolio development.
• Teach software proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
• Develop students' skills in typography selection, color palette creation, logo development, layout composition, and file preparation for print/digital output.
• Emphasize the design process from research to final execution and connect graphic design to branding, marketing, user experience, and visual storytelling.
• Adapt instruction using design briefs, software tutorials, and portfolio projects to support students from beginners to advanced designers.
• Identify and address common student challenges, such as mastering Adobe tools and understanding print vs. digital production requirements.
• Use effective teaching methods to explain concepts through multiple approaches and adapt to individual learning styles.

Requirements

• Deep knowledge of design principles, including typography, color theory, layout, visual hierarchy, branding, and logo design.
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
• Ability to teach design concept development, software proficiency, and visual communication strategies.
• Familiarity with graphic design curricula and common student challenges.
• Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
• Ability to adapt instruction to different learning styles and student needs.
