Graphic Design Coordinator (Staff Wage)

About the role

The Communications team at the University of Virginia School of Data Science is seeking a talented and motivated graphic design coordinator. This position reports to the Creative Manager and will be integral in supporting the design needs for the school.

Responsibilities

• Aid in designing a suite of print, digital, and social media marketing pieces.
• Support the rollout of a digital asset management platform, Photoshelter.
• Create branded templates and manage photo assets to ensure brand consistency.
• Collaborate on creative solutions to meet project goals and client requirements.
• Ensure precision in typography, alignment, color consistency, and overall design quality.

Requirements

• Experience: 2+ years relevant experience required.
• Technical skills: experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).
• Design skills: a solid understanding of core design principles.
• Communication skills: strong communication skills.
• Photography editing and asset management.
• Social media idea generation and execution.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Preferred Qualifications: On trend social media idea generation and execution.

Skills

• Design skills for print and digital.
• Problem-solving skills: capability to understand the request, identify challenges, and creatively develop effective solutions.
• Physical demands: primarily sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. Occasional travel to attend meetings and programs.

This is a hybrid position with one day a week in-person in the office.

This position will pay $25/hour.
