About the role
This role is a volunteer management position focused on funding strategy, grant writing, and development. The Grants Manager will identify funding opportunities, develop strong proposals, and secure the resources needed to expand access to fine arts and music education.
Responsibilities
- Identify and evaluate grant opportunities
- Build and manage a structured grant pipeline
- Align opportunities with organizational priorities
- Lead the development of grant proposals, letters of inquiry (LOIs), and supporting documentation
- Track grant deadlines and requirements
- Ensure timely and complete submissions
- Research foundations, organizations, and funding sources
- Partner with programs, finance, and leadership teams
- Gather data, metrics, and narratives for proposals
- Auxiliary reporting and compliance support
- Maintain grant records, submissions, and statuses
- Translate organizational work into compelling narratives
- Highlight measurable outcomes and impact
- Build and improve grant writing processes
- Create templates and reusable materials
- Ensure consistency and quality
- Identify ways to improve success rates
- Refine grant strategy and approach
- Strengthen long-term funding efforts
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience in grant writing, development, or fundraising
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Experience managing deadlines and multiple submissions
Qualifications
- Experience in nonprofit or mission-driven organizations
- Experience with grant research tools
