Role Overview
The Grant Lead / Development Manager is the engine behind Outcome School’s fundraising success. You will oversee the full lifecycle of grant development — from identifying opportunities to managing deadlines, coordinating contributors, and ensuring every proposal reflects our mission with clarity and excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Grant Strategy & Pipeline Ownership
- Lead the full grant development process from research to submission
- Build and maintain a strategic pipeline of high-value funding opportunities
- Prioritize grants based on mission alignment, competitiveness, and organizational needs
- Project & Team Management
- Manage deadlines, timelines, and deliverables across multiple proposals
- Assign tasks to grant writers, researchers, and collaborators
- Ensure all team members have the information and context they need to succeed
- Maintain a clear, organized workflow for drafts, revisions, and submissions
- Quality & Mission Alignment
- Ensure every proposal reflects Outcome School’s voice, mission, and impact
- Review drafts for clarity, consistency, and alignment with funder priorities
- Maintain a library of reusable narratives, data points, and organizational language
- Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with the CEO, program leads, and volunteer teams to gather program details
- Cook up with the Grant Researcher to evaluate new opportunities
- Communicate progress, risks, and needs to leadership
- Tracking & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of submissions, deadlines, and outcomes
- Track reporting requirements and renewal cycles
- Provide insights to strengthen future proposals
Ideal Candidate
- A natural organizer who loves structure, clarity, and follow-through
- Skilled at managing projects, people, and timelines
- A strong communicator with an eye for narrative consistency
- Passionate about education, equity, and community empowerment
- Comfortable leading a small team of volunteer contributors
- Motivated by impact and excited to build something meaningful
Experience in grant writing, nonprofit development, or project management is helpful — but leadership, ownership, and commitment matter most.
Time Commitment
- 2–4 hours per week
- Minimum 3-month commitment
- Fully remote, flexible schedule
