Role Overview

The Professional Pipeline Navigator is a grant-funded position for the 26-27 school year to lead and develop a pipeline program to support recruiting, hiring, and the development of a workforce that reflects our community's demographics.

Strategic Recruitment & Coaching

  • Identify and recruit high-potential candidates from three primary pools: current high school students, existing classified staff (paras, ECE teachers, operational staff), and nontraditional career-changers.
  • Conduct 1:1 coaching sessions to help candidates select the Bachelor's degree or certification pathways that best fit their life circumstances.
  • Host district recruitment fairs and informational workshops tailored to diverse audiences.
  • Provide coaching opportunities for staff around job interviews, application processes, etc.

Program & Systems Bridging

  • Act as the primary liaison between candidates, university partners, and school leadership.
  • Collaborate with school leaders and supervisors to find creative scheduling solutions that allow candidates to maintain full-time employment while meeting rigorous clinical hour requirements.

Resource & Financial Advocacy

  • Become a subject matter expert on Colorado Rural Educator Licensure programs, grants, and state-specific incentives.
  • Navigate candidates through FAFSA, scholarship applications, and local financial resources.
  • Connect staff with auxiliary supports, such as childcare resources, to ensure they can remain in the program through completion.

Retention & Success Tracking

  • Maintain ongoing check-ins with candidates to prevent burnout, coach candidates, and provide support.
  • Build a database of available open positions and proactively match qualified pipeline candidates with school needs.
  • Facilitate peer mentoring groups or cohort groups for candidates to collaborate with colleagues and navigate the emotional and professional challenges that come with balancing life, work, family, and school responsibilities.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Education and experience sufficient for the rigors of the position, examples include experience as a K-12 public educator, counselor, human resources professional, or community organizer.
  • Bilingual proficiency is required to communicate in English and Spanish to support our diverse candidate pool.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build trust with classified staff and collaborate with district leadership/principals.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.

Special skills directly applicable to the position

  • Ability to navigate RFSD systems and departments, higher education enrollment, financial aid systems, and state licensing boards.
  • Familiarity with Colorado's rural education landscape and Colorado Educator Licensing requirements is a plus.
  • A problem-solving mindset—particularly regarding complex scheduling and the overlapping requirements of work and study.

Location

The position will be primarily located at the RFSD District Office at 400 Sopris Avenue, with frequent travel to other district locations.

Working Conditions

An office environment with exposure to computer screens and use of a keyboard. The employee is frequently required to sit, walk, and stand. Primary functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for sitting for prolonged periods of times; use of computer keyboard; light lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs.

Pay Range

This is a part-time, non-exempt hourly position based on the BA salary lane of the certified schedule, currently $36 - $47/hour depending on qualified experience.

Schedule

To be determined in collaboration with the Chief of Human Resources and Talent. The total number of days is not to exceed 150 for the 26/27 school year. Weekly hours should not exceed 30 in any week.

Grant Information

This is a grant-funded position that is limited to the 26/27 school year. Continued employment is not guaranteed beyond the duration of the grant.
