The purpose of this position is to provide assistance in direct student recruiting, student assessing, student mentoring, and support grant students in gaining professional success to include assisting in placement and job retention. Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:
- Assist in the coordination and implementation of outreach and recruitment strategies for the integrated career pathway program.
- Track student attendance, behavior, and progress for required THECB reports.
- Refer students to network of campus and community service providers.
- Establish positive and trusting relationships with students.
- Aid staff in assuring quality delivery of scheduled grant classes (both credit and continuing-professional development) by supporting instructors at assigned site or campus on a weekly basis.
- Travel between campuses to work with students/instructors.
- Flexibility in working evenings to accommodate student’s schedules.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- One (1) year of experience in coordinating education programs.
- Experience in supporting at-risk populations and managing multiple student support activities and coordinating referrals to community partners.
Required Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Intermediate level computer application skills including Word and Excel.
- Knowledge of instructional design, program planning and training environments helpful.
- Position requires an efficient, detail oriented, self-starter with the ability to meet deadlines and work well with a minimal of supervision.
- Strong team orientation with good time management skills.
- Ability to focus and keep deadlines.
- Ability to work occasional evening and weekend hours as needed.
- Ability to problem solve.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Social Services, Education or similar background.
- Experience with student recruiting and advising, workforce placement, or coordinating academic and social services.
- Experience in providing case management supporting adults from recruitment and intake through certification and employment.
- Proficient knowledge of Excel, instructional design, program planning and training environments.
- Knowledge of state programs and policies and local public and non-profit support services.
- Ability to work independently or as a team member depending on situation.
