About the Role
Ducks Unlimited, Inc., the world’s leader in wetlands and waterfowl conservation, seeks an experienced Grant Compliance Specialist to join our Southern Regional Office team. This full-time position supports conservation, restoration, and management of wetlands and associated habitats for North America’s waterfowl, wildlife, and people across thirteen states. The role is based in Ridgeland, MS.
Responsibilities
- Work with teams of biologists and engineers to deliver wetland projects.
- Monitor compliance with government grants and contracts for financial, administrative, and technical requirements, including budgeting, invoicing, financial and progress reporting, audit, records, and closeout.
- Track funding source budgets/balances, develop A/R invoices to funding sources on a cost reimbursement basis, and keep teams informed of project cost and income status.
- Facilitate processing of accounts payables and labor reporting.
- Provide oversight of staff timesheets and expense reports, tracking these costs against project budgets.
- Handle document scanning and control, maintaining project documentation in a standardized and organized manner.
- Adhere to government and internal procurement regulations.
- Coordinate contract development and implementation, ensuring compliance with internal and external requirements, review and commentary, approval, and dissemination.
- Perform various administrative tasks as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, or a related field preferred.
- Knowledge of federal and/or state grants; direct experience desired.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics is preferred.
- Well-organized and detail-oriented.
- Self-motivated, with initiative and eagerness to learn; able to work with minimal supervision but willing to ask questions and seek direction when needed.
- Able to maintain a professional demeanor while working within tight deadlines with a variety of people and personalities.
