Grain Elevator Operator - 2nd shift

The Basics

Location: Jacksonville, IL
Compensation: $21/hr and up
Days/Hours: 2pm-10:30pm, M-F with ample overtime, including weekends.
Equipment Used: Various grain handling equipment, mainly conveyors and legs
Material Handled: Bulk commodities: wheat, corn, soybeans, etc

Duties

The duties of this hands-on job will include grain receiving, storage, handling, drying, blending, and loading of grain; monitoring stored grain condition; and maintaining and cleaning grain facilities and equipment to provide a safe environment for you and fellow Team Members.

Grain Elevator Operators will be cross-trained to perform a variety of tasks.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Reliable transportation
• Must be able to read, write, understand and follow written and/or verbal instructions in English
• Available to work overtime and weekends
• Professional demeanor (safety conscious, quality of job performance, cleanliness, and verbal communications)
• Able to pass a criminal background check

Physical Requirements

• This job can be physically strenuous
• You will be expected to be able to work in tight and confined spaces
• You will work at heights
• You will need the ability to frequently lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds and occasionally more
• You will be required to wear PPE
