About the role

This position performs a range of patient care assignments within the secure perimeter of MDOC facilities under the guidance and direct oversight of a licensed Registered Nurse. Upon obtaining licensure within six (6) months of hire and successful performance, the position will be reclassified to the Registered Nurse P11.

Responsibilities

• Perform a range of patient care assignments within the secure perimeter of MDOC facilities
• Work in collaboration with a licensed Registered Nurse
• Provide care to patients in correctional facilities

Requirements

• Education: Possession of a diploma, associate's, bachelor's, or master's degree in nursing accepted for licensure by the Michigan Board of Nursing
• No specific type or amount of experience is required

Qualifications

• Must have not received your RN license before applying

• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge of correctional facility procedures and policies

Pay

Schedule

• Positions are located at various correctional facilities throughout the state
