About Us

At Cooper University Health Care, our commitment to providing extraordinary health care begins with our team. Our extraordinary professionals are continuously discovering clinical innovations and enhanced access to the most up-to-date facilities, equipment, technologies, and research protocols. We have a commitment to our employees to provide competitive rates and compensation programs.

About the Role

The Graduate Nurse (GN) is a professional care-giver who, as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team, assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame. The GN supervises and provides care to these patients utilizing the nursing process, including the therapeutic use of self. The GN holds a temporary emergency RN license and shall be eligible to work only under supervision in an acute care facility licensed by the New Jersey Department of Health. Such supervision may be in the form of a preceptor relationship.

The following tasks will not be performed by the GN:

  • Procedures not signed off by the RN preceptor or Clinical Educator that require competency.
  • Direct or supervise other healthcare staff.
  • Make assignments for other staff.

Kelemen 10 is a medical-surgical unit that cares for patients with various needs and disease processes. Both North and South 10 have Telemetry capabilities for our patients. Each side houses 36 patients to a maximum of 72 patients. South 10 has a 12-bed Intermediate Care Unit (INCU) embedded within the 36-bed unit. INCU has critically care-trained RNs who support patient needs and care for ventilated patients. South 10 also has 2 negative pressure isolation rooms with an anteroom that is used when needed for specific isolation requirements.

We conduct multidisciplinary rounds Monday–Friday, involving the patient in their care and allowing team members to collaborate with the patient to provide the best possible care and appropriate discharge to home or other facilities. A pharmacist with an office on the unit assists RNs to help avoid delays in patient care.
