About the Role

The Registered RN is a professional caregiver who, as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team, assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame. The RN supervises and provides care to these patients utilizing the nursing process, including the therapeutic use of self. Responsibilities include following established policies and procedures, communicating openly with internal customers and supervisors, and providing excellent customer service interfacing well with all levels of staff, management, and physicians. Applies Cooper core values. Other duties as required.

Kelemen 8 is a medical-surgical unit that cares for patients with a wide variety of diagnoses, illnesses, and disease processes. North and South 8 have telemetry capabilities for patients. Kelemen 8 has frequent admissions and discharges and can accept a total of 77 patients: the North side houses 37 patients, and the South side houses 36 patients. There are two negative pressure rooms with an anti-room. A pharmacist is present on the unit to assist RNs with medication questions or concerns. Multidisciplinary rounds occur every Monday through Friday and involve all aspects of the healthcare team, including the patient and family.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an NLN-accredited School of Nursing
  • Current NJ-RN License (Registered Nurse)
  • Current American Heart Association BLS Certification (Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers)
  • Certain specialties may require advanced certification (e.g., ACLS, NALS, PALS)
