REGISTERED NURSE - MED SURG - TELEMETRY, KELEMEN 8 NORTH
About the Role
The Registered RN is a professional caregiver who, as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team, assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame. The RN supervises and provides care to these patients utilizing the nursing process, including the therapeutic use of self. This role follows established policies and procedures, communicates openly with internal customers and supervisors, and provides excellent customer service interfacing well with all levels of staff, management, and physicians while applying Cooper core values. Other duties as required.
Kelemen 8 is a medical-surgical unit caring for patients with a wide variety of diagnoses, illnesses, and disease processes. The unit has telemetry capabilities and frequently handles admissions and discharges. Kelemen 8 can accommodate up to 77 patients (37 on the North side and 36 on the South side) and includes two negative pressure rooms with an anteroom. A pharmacist is present on the unit to assist RNs with medication questions or concerns. Multidisciplinary rounds occur Monday through Friday, involving the entire healthcare team, including the patient and family.
Requirements
- Graduate of an NLN-accredited School of Nursing
- Current NJ-RN License (Registered Nurse)
- Current American Heart Association BLS Certification (Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers)
- Certain specialties may require advanced certification (e.g., ACLS, NALS, PALS)
