REGISTERED NURSE PRN II - MED SURG - TELEMETRY, KELEMEN 8 SOUTH
About the Role
The Registered RN is a professional caregiver who, as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team, assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame. The RN supervises and provides care to these patients utilizing the nursing process, including the therapeutic use of self. Responsibilities include following established policies and procedures, communicating openly with internal customers and supervisors, and providing excellent customer service to all levels of staff, management, and physicians while applying Cooper core values. Other duties as required.
Kelemen 8 is a medical-surgical unit that cares for patients with a wide variety of diagnoses, illnesses, and disease processes. North and South 8 have telemetry capabilities for patients. Kelemen 8 has frequent admissions and discharges and can accommodate a total of 77 patients (37 on the North side and 36 on the South side). The unit includes two negative pressure rooms with an anti-room and has a pharmacist present to assist RNs with medication questions or concerns. Multidisciplinary rounds occur Monday through Friday, involving the entire healthcare team, including the patient and family.
Requirements
- Graduate of an NLN-accredited School of Nursing
- Current NJ-RN License (Registered Nurse)
- Current American Heart Association BLS Certification (Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers)
- Certain specialties may require advanced certification (e.g., ACLS, NALS, PALS)
