Graduate Nurse - Emergency Department

About the Role

The Graduate Nurse provides direct patient care in a high-acuity Emergency Department, assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient needs. Post-graduation, the nurse must obtain licensure within 90 days to maintain employment. The role emphasizes patient and family-centered care, education on illness management, and medication administration.

Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate patients' physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs
• Develop and implement individualized care plans collaboratively with the healthcare team
• Monitor and modify care plans based on patient responses
• Promote patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance
• Educate patients and families on post-treatment care and medication management
• Participate in professional development activities

Requirements

• Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
• No prior experience necessary
• Ability to obtain nursing licensure within 90 days of graduation
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
