Graduate Accountant II
Responsibilities
- Maintains knowledge of federal and state laws, regulations, and policy.
- Analyzes and monitors receipts, expenditures, allotment balances and other financial elements.
- Reviews payment requests and verifies payment is compliant with state requirements.
- Maintains documents in the data system.
- Monitors, reviews, and records budgetary tracking for individuals under guardianship.
- Reviews requests for various Trusts established and maintained by the department for individuals under guardianship.
- Reviews and reconciles disbursements and receipts to the Trust statements.
- Advises management on financial issues and recommends solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Ability to plan and establish priorities.
- Attention to detail being thorough and accurate in completing tasks.
Qualifications
- Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree (which includes twenty semester hours or thirty quarter hours in accounting).
- One year of professional accounting experience.
- Professional experience in Kentucky State Government accounting will substitute for the education on a year-for-year basis.
