About the role

Blakehurst is a Life Plan Community located on a 40-acre campus in Towson, MD, near Baltimore. The community serves over 300 seniors and aims to enrich their lives through various opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Aid residents with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, shaving, incontinent care, foot care, positioning, turning, exercising, vital signs, height and weight checks per policy.
• Assist residents with mealtime by cutting food and encouraging them to eat.
• Complete and document shift assignments as assigned, and report to the nursing supervisor if unable to complete.
• Communicate with residents, families, department leaders, and the Director of Nursing as necessary.
• Provide planned and/or directed activities.
• Respond to call lights and emergencies promptly.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One (1) year experience working as a Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA).
• Must be registered with the Maryland Board of Nursing State Registry.
• New hires must pass a preemployment screening process, including a fitness for duty physical, criminal background check, drug test, and employment references.

• Some roles may require proof of MMRV (measles, mumps, rubella, & varicella) vaccinations.

Pay

$19 - 24 / hour, based on experience.

Schedule

• Part-time shifts available in Comprehensive Care Unit: 7:00am-3:30am, every other weekend; 3:00pm-11:30pm, every other Monday, Friday, and weekend; 3:00pm-11:30pm, every other weekend; 11:00pm-7:30am, every other weekend.
• Part-time shifts available in Assisted Living Unit: 11:00pm-7:30am, every other Tuesday, Friday, and weekend (includes evening/night shift differential).
