About the Role

The Graduate Medical Education (GME) Operations Manager serves as the primary support for the Director of Medical Education by coordinating and administering the hospital’s portfolio of GME programs. The Manager of Medical Education will be responsible for the oversight of the day-to-day administration of all ACGME-accredited programs. This role ensures seamless day-to-day operations, maintains accreditation compliance, and fosters an environment of academic excellence.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Education, or a related field required.
  • Additional training, certification, or education in medical education, public health, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of office administration experience in a healthcare and/or education setting.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience coordinating GME, CME, UME, or other medical education programs.
  • Familiarity with accreditation standards (ACGME, LCME, AMA, ACCME, etc.).
  • Prior experience in an academic medical center or community hospital setting is preferred.

Skills

  • Strong organizational, time-management, critical thinking, analytical, and strategic planning skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including the ability to handle confidential information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and residency management software.
  • Working knowledge of accreditation standards (ACGME, LCME, ACCME).
  • Strong relationship-building and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing schedules, deadlines, demands, and a heavy workload.

Working Conditions

  • Work will be completed primarily in an office setting.
  • Occasional evening or weekend hours required for meetings, trainings, or special events.
  • Potential discomfort due to noise and crowded conditions.
  • Moderate amount of stress at times.
  • Involves sitting and standing for long periods of time, occasional bending, pushing and pulling, and the ability to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds occasionally.

Location: Main Campus, Graduate Medical Education department. Full-time position.
