Responsibilities
- Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with the dealership
- Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
- Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems, including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
- Communicate directly with the Service Advisor to inform customers if any additional service is needed. Provide an estimate of the time needed for additional repairs
- Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a certified automotive training program is preferred
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
- GM Center of Learning completion or working towards completion required
- ASE Certification required or working towards certification
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience as a Service Technician experience preferred
- Proficient in using GM diagnostic equipment and software
- Strong technical skills in diagnosing and repairing
- Ability to read and interpret service manuals and technical bulletins
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to perform video inspections on vehicles
