About the Role
The Global Technology division manages the critical systems and platforms that form the backbone of the company's retail, commercial, and institutional businesses, as well as key support functions around the world. We develop and deploy leading-edge technology in areas such as mobile and online banking, payments processing, technology infrastructure, cyber-security, risk and capital management, and enterprise data management. Our mainframe environment is the third largest in the world.
As a member of our team, you will use leading technology solutions and integrated platforms to ensure that our customers and clients can effectively manage their finances and bank with us anytime, anywhere. The Global Technology Summer Analyst Program provides a unique experience based on your interests, development opportunities, and current business needs. Analyst positions support teams working on the latest technology and emerging technical trends.
Program Overview
The Summer program is a 10-week internship designed to provide Summer Analysts with exposure to life at Bank of America and the opportunity to make significant contributions to the team. The program begins with an in-person, week-long orientation and induction, including networking opportunities with peers and enterprise leaders.
Summer Analysts are given a true associate experience, with assignments mirroring full-time responsibilities, including goal-setting and a formal review process. Every intern will have opportunities for robust learning through trainings, professional development, networking events, volunteer activities, speaker series, and more. During the 10 weeks, you’ll strengthen key skills and competencies to help jumpstart your career and make a real impact on our business from day one.

Qualifications
Considered candidates are required to be pursuing an undergraduate or master’s degree from an accredited college or university with a graduation timeframe between November 2027 and August 2028.
- Degree Type: Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s degree (penultimate year of school)
- Graduation Dates: November 2027 – August 2028
- Major/Course of Study: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or similar degree of relevance
- GPA: 3.5 minimum GPA preferred

Available Roles
Software Engineer
Responsibilities:
- Gather and translate internal and external client requirements into technical design specifications and business process reengineering
- Code solutions, unit tests, and ensure the solution can be integrated successfully into the overall application/system with clear, robust, and well-tested interfaces
- Participate and contribute to the delivery/release (CI/CD) events: branching timelines, pull requests, issue triage, merge/conflict resolution, release notes
Project Assignments: Front end development, Back end development, Full stack development, Mobile development, or Software Analyst. Teams are assigned mid-spring based on real-time, business-critical needs.
Recommended Skillsets:
- Basic proficiency in at least one of the following programming languages: Java, C#/.NET, C++, Python
- Knowledge in AI literacy fundamentals and prompt engineering
- Experience in Agile methodology, Process Improvement, Excel, JIRA
- Ability to work in application frameworks such as Angular, Oracle
- Additional skills that may be utilized: SQL, JavaScript, jQuery, React, CSS
Mainframe Analyst
Responsibilities:
- Assist teams in maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing mainframe systems that support critical business operations
- Translate business requirements into technical definitions, reference models, blueprints, and playbooks for deployment in compliance with architecture standards and policies
- Ensure system design technology solutions comply with enterprise system design and engineering standards
Recommended Skillsets:
- Basic understanding of one or more mainframe technologies (COBOL, CICS, DB2, IMS, WMQ, z/OS), as well as Job Control Language (JCL)
- Experience with JIRA, Process Improvement, and database development
- Knowledge in basic IBM Mainframe systems (e.g., transaction and database managers, message queue managers, and operating system and communication services)
