About the Role
Our PIMCO Technology teams produce technology solutions to help our firm make investment decisions, manage portfolio risk, and serve our clients. As a Technology Analyst intern, you will sit at the intersection of finance and technology, solve fast-paced problems, and drive innovation.
Over 10 weeks during the summer, interns work alongside engineers, developers, investment professionals, and analytics teams to develop cutting-edge software and deliver value-add tools. This internship is located at PIMCO’s office in Austin, Texas.
Eligibility
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a similar major
- Must be able to begin full-time employment at the Austin PIMCO office between January 2028 – August 2028
- Must be enrolled at a university during the Fall 2027 semester (August 2027 – December 2027)
- Minimum 3.5 cumulative collegiate grade point average (on a 4.0 scale or equivalent) at an accredited four-year college or university
- Fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing)
Skills & Qualities for Success
- Curiosity with strong problem-solving skills and the desire to take ownership and drive solutions to completion
- Strong programming skills in Python, Java, C#, C++, SQL, RDBMS, and data warehouse technologies or experience
- Superb interpersonal skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts to stakeholders across the firm
- Ability to work well independently and in a team environment
- Demonstrated curiosity and experience using new emerging technologies and AI tools in work or school projects to solve problems and drive better outcomes
Internship Experience
The PIMCO Internship is a 10-week program running from early June to mid-August. You will:
- Participate in PIMCO Fundamentals Training during Week 1 to gain skills, knowledge, and relationships for success
- Dive into PIMCO’s technology ecosystem and enhance developer skills through PIMCO Technology University (PTU) Intern Bootcamp in Week 2
- Receive guidance and mentorship from your supervisor, mentor, past-intern peers, senior leaders, and team throughout the summer
- Gain hands-on experience with AI-powered tools from day one, with training and resources to build future-ready skills
- Participate in PIMCO's Global Month of Volunteering to give back to the community
- Join cross-divisional education, networking, and social events
- Receive feedback through formal reviews at mid- and end-of-summer to keep you on track toward your goals
Pay
Competitive compensation with an hourly rate of $52.88, plus a transition bonus to assist with relocation to Austin, Texas.
