2027 Summer Intern: Software Engineer

About the role

You’re a motivated student with a current 3.0 GPA or higher currently pursuing a degree in one of the following areas from an accredited college or university: Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science. This is a paid, full-time, 11-week internship designed to give you real-world experience and meaningful exposure to the telecommunications industry in your chosen field. In addition to role-specific projects, you’ll take part in professional development sessions, networking opportunities, mentorship and experiences that help you grow personally and professionally. Responsibilities

• Build features using modern development tools including AI-assisted coding environments and pattern analysis, working across the full technology stack spanning web applications, APIs, databases, and cloud services.
• Participate in the complete software development lifecycle from requirements and design through development, testing, and deployment, collaborating with experienced engineers on real business problems.
• Contribute to software solutions for workforce management, technician scheduling, and dispatch tools that power Spectrum's field operations — coordinating 25,000 technicians serving millions of customers daily.
• Leverage a modern technology stack and AI-driven tools to analyze patterns, build intelligent solutions, and continuously improve how field operations are managed at enterprise scale.

Schedule

Internship program runs from May 26 through August 6, 2027 (full‑time, 11‑week). You’ll spend about 80% of your time on department‑focused projects and the remaining 20% on internship experiences such as a kickoff conference, professional development sessions, networking activities, webinars, community service, cross‑functional projects and final presentations.

Required Qualifications

• Must be a rising senior with an expected graduation date between December 2027 and May 2028
• Must be currently enrolled in an accredited College or University completing a bachelor’s degree
• Must have at least a 3.0 GPA or greater in current program
• Ability to travel locally to Spectrum intern development events and activities throughout the program
• Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship
