About the role

AWS Global Field Operations (GFO) provides the best end-to-end support for AWS products and services in non-traditional environments including Outposts Services. GFO technicians bring native AWS services, infrastructure, and operating models to virtually any data center, co-location space, or customer on-premises facility and edge sites. Customers can now use the same AWS APIs, tools, and infrastructure across their on-premises and the AWS cloud to deliver a truly consistent hybrid experience.

Responsibilities

  • Build relationships with internal teams and customers along with innovating effective solutions to meet issues & problems as they arise
  • Conducting site assessments at various facilities to proactively prepare for the onsite installation of AWS equipment
  • Installing/expanding/provisioning AWS infrastructure at the third-party premises, data center, and/or non-traditional environment
  • Troubleshooting network installations & configurations and performing network testing, break/fix and/or decommissioning and solving complex problems
  • Proactively identifying and implementing strategies that prevent support issues and/or further enhance the customer experience
  • Day-to-day business, both internally and with external customers

Requirements

  • 4+ years of data center engineering or operations experience
  • 2+ years of leading large complex programs experience
  • Knowledge of fundamentals of networking, security, databases (relational or NoSQL), operating systems (Unix, Linux, and/or Windows)
  • CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, Cisco/CCNA, Linux (Redhat), Microsoft hardware (installation), AWS, or other industry relevant certifications
  • Experience working in a customer-facing environment
  • Experience with network operating systems such as Cisco IOS and Junos
  • Knowledge of power, cooling, cabling, networking hardware, inventory management, and automation

Qualifications

  • Basic Qualifications: 4+ years of data center engineering or operations experience, 2+ years of leading large complex programs experience, knowledge of networking, security, databases, operating systems, CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, Cisco/CCNA, Linux, Microsoft hardware (installation), AWS, or other industry relevant certifications, experience working in a customer-facing environment, experience with network operating systems, knowledge of power, cooling, cabling, networking hardware, inventory management, and automation
  • Preferred Qualifications: CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, Cisco/CCNA, Linux (Redhat), Microsoft hardware (installation), AWS, or other industry relevant certifications

Pay

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.

Schedule

May be required to work at height to maintain AWS infrastructure equipment while adhering to AWS health & safety guidelines.
